Sorry for the spam!!! I figured out why it wouldn’t post!!! I had a bad file name!!!
Now here is the post as it was intended!:
Damn Tumblr! This will be the second post I’ve written. Normally I’m smarter about long posts and keep an html copy in email until a post actually posts, but did I do it today? Did the post just spin for minutes? Yes!!!! Did I “leave page” YES! Arrrraugh.
Anywho, as I recall:
Meet the Eurasian Kingfisher. Newest colorway in the gnarledpaw line. Available on ALL bases. So, do I normally post pictures of birds in the throes? No. But they say sex sells, soooooo. I’m kidding!!! You know that, right? But unless this is a gay couple, the female gets to be pretty too!!! Yay! You can tell I know squat-all about birds. I do know a pretty one when I see one, however.
The middle photo presents Eurasian Kingfisher and Cyan Shadow… hereafter referred to as EK and CS. Did I mention I lost a very long post? ;-)
Now, suppose you are a Stephen West fan. So many folks are these days! Women do love men who knit, don’t they! So, how about EK in this? Or this? Of, how about EK and CS together in the HUGELY popular Daybreak?
Up for free patterns instead? How about this? Or these? Or these?
And if you’re a crocheter? How about this quickie?

well what the hell does Tumblr not like about my posts?
Ok, this upper is older - Cyan Shadow and the lower is brand new - Eurasian Kingfisher.

test post… since my real one spins for hours…
Reds are tough to photograph. Some reds in particular. This is one of them. The bottom skein is a brand new gnarledpaw colorway: red, orange and green. Named, as you can see, for the Chattering Lori, it’s a vibrant, exciting color. Consider a Traveling Woman shawl or in a popular free pattern the 22.5 Degrees.

Met Lorelai (on the left) at the dachshund parade yesterday. She looks like she could be Ginny’s daughter. So adorable!
I’m posting this for a friend who’s hard drive died leaving her at the mercy of her picture-mean webmail. I’d promised to shoot it for real last night - you know, inside the tent, on top of the light box, but I fell sound asleep and woke up with another set of mosquito bites. And trust me, when I find the culprit, she’s DEAD! Dead I tell you…
Anyway, this is most divine DK EVER. EVER, people! If you touched this, you’d think you’d found your way to Valhalla. I’m absolutely serious about that. This is the finest DK and it could be yours if I could just shoot it and get it posted to the etsy site…
PS: That pale green? 3rd skein back? It’s a sort of pistachio color. Delicious, as you’ll see if I ever get it shot!!!

When Tumblr’s Storyboard projects fell through the cracks, Mashable caught them. Watch a father-son documentary team tell the stories of recent vets.
And now… a moment of parental bragging, ok? This is my baby! Ok, he’s 29 and not a baby any more, but I’m tickled silly Mashable picked this up. I think Nicky’s wonderful in this blurb and his father, my first husband, is great too. Not to mention the importance of the documentary they’re making. And darned if this isn’t really fun.
So yeah… that’s my baby!

From the land of variegated yarn comes this photo… but I draw you attention to the front three skeins, names for the Adelaide’s Warbler - seen in the bottom shot. Anywho, those three skeins are (from left) a Special Proper DK, a Frieda Helix and a Pretty. That special DK is 250 yd - a nice 20 extra yds from normal, plus, it feels like it’s got silk in it. Even after the scour and dye process. That’s just a little representation of how colorways travel across wool blends.
So don’t be shy! If there’s a colorway you’d like on a specific base, just holler!

If you’ve been following this blog for awhile, you’ll know that flowers are a key source of inspiration for many colorways at gnarledpaw. Here are three shots currently milling about in my head and tacked to the studio wall. It doesn’t mean I’m planning a creamsicle skein necessarily, but that something about that shot has the brain cells percolating.
So just for giggles, I’ll post these now and then when I act on them, I’ll post them again along with the end yarn product.
Meanwhile, I have a good start on my test knit for the kit I’m doing with Tina. Hazy details here. I’ve been thinking about how to do the free kit giveaways. too. I mean, like a radio station: the third message wins! Be the third emailer! Or, you know, some more fun way…email a picture of your favorite knitting place, chair, outfit, TV show, playlist, etc… or your most recent knitting project, or your current WIP? Any ideas out there?

I just can’t wait until I have the “official” photos to post these. In fact, I can’t wait until I finish skein-ing the rest of them! I’m jumping around here like a fool, deliriously happy with the latest stuff to come out of the dye studio. I love purple. And gray. And every blue. And every green. And even good old brown… why, if not for brown, there’d be no chocolate, for cryin’ out loud!
The new colorways will go up on the shop site tonight. Or you can zip me a note to hold one. And remember, if its not on a base or in a weight you want, just ask for it!
